What Are Foreclosure Listings?
Foreclosure listings are a listing of properties that are in foreclosure due to non payment of the mortgage on the property. These properties are for sale at discounted prices because the bank, or government agency that has taken possession of the property, is attempting to recoup the amount still owed on the property.
There are two websites that offer free foreclosure listings, which are – 4viv.com and The Free Foreclosure Database. Both of these sites include bank and government foreclosure listings. Other sites ask for a fee before you can access any foreclosure information. Some of these sites will allow you to try their services free for a period of time and ask you for a fee when the time is up or you will not have access to the lists.
When you have access to a foreclosure listing site, you will gain:
- A complete address for the location of the property.
- Phone numbers to reach the institutions that are offering the foreclosed property for sale.
- The asking price of the foreclosure listings.
The listings are usually broken down into eight categories:
1. Bank Foreclosure
2. Court Auctions
3. Pre–Foreclosures
4. Homeowners in Bankruptcy
5. VA Homes
6. Hud Homes
7. For Sale by Owner Homes
8. Government Homes
Most of these homes start at $10,000. There are many homes that qualify for low or no down payment. No matter what type of home you are looking for, whether your first home or an investment property, you will find them in the foreclosure listings. These listings have properties available nationwide.
The prices for properties on the foreclosure listings are going to be much lower than you would pay if you were to buy the same property through a real estate agent. The foreclosure sites will have information on everything from answering simple questions to obtaining financing. These sites sell hundreds of thousands of homes, most of them are 20% to 50% below market value. You may also be able to obtain sale comparison reports on the neighborhood the house is located in, and some of the foreclosure listing sites offer a tutorial on how to purchase real estate inexpensively.
